Swing of Memories and Gemini Empty
PostSubject: Swing of Memories and Gemini   Swing of Memories and Gemini EmptyWed Sep 09, 2009 5:55 pm

Ok, quick question, if I use Swing of Memories (Spell card, Normal; Effect:Special summon 1 normal monster from your graveyard. It is destroyed during the end phase of this turn.) on a Gemini monster in my grave like lets say, Blazewing Butterfly and then normal summon it to have it gain its effect as an effect monster at the end phase of the turn is it still destroyed even though it is no longer a normal monster? In the text it says "It" as in the normal monster that is summoned, but it is no longer a normal monster.

It's still the same monster that was targeted, and summoned by the effect of Swing of memories. It will be destroyed unless it is removed from the field, or cannot be targeted by Swing's effect.

Right, the Gemini monster doesn't leave the field between it's original summon and the normal summon to activate it's effect. While there isn't anything on the card text or in the rulings that would necessarily indicate this, before the UD judge forums on YGO were shut down Curtis answered some similiar questions from Simon Key regarding Gemini monsters that addressed this.
