Would Black Ptera return to the owner's hand if it is Tributed for the effect of Cannon Soldier, or can it miss the timing since the last thing to happen was Cannon Soldier inflicting damage?
Answer:
"Black Ptera's" effect will activate because it is sent from the field to the Graveyard.
And there is no reason to think that it would "miss the timing". This effect is not optional.
