This came up at a Regional last weekend, I want to make sure I was correct.
One of Sky Scourge Invicil's abilities reads "Negate the effects of all Spell Cards", and under Invicil's rulings it states "This card does not negate the effects of Spell or Traps that are activated in the Graveyard.". So, since sending Wave-Motion Cannon to the graveyard is a cost and its effect triggers once sent, my assumption is, Sky Scourge Invicil would not be able to negate the sending of Wave-Motion Cannon or the damage generated thereafter. Am I correct in this?
If so, would the same be true with Imperial Order or Spell Canceller vs. Wave-Motion Cannon?
Answer:
"Sky Scourge Invicil" will negate the effect of "Wave-Motion Cannon" in this case.
Also, the effect of "Wave-Motion Cannon" does not activate in the Graveyard.
