Rapid-Fire Magician:
While this card is face-up on the field, inflict 400 points of damage to your opponent's Life Points each time you activate 1 Normal Spell Card.
Card of Sanctity:
Remove all cards in your hand and on your side of the field from play. Draw cards until you have 2 cards in your hand.
In the rulings it says that Rapid-Fire Magician's damage goes off when a normal spell card resolves. Card of Sanctity's effect of removing everything you have is a cost.
My question is that since Rapid-Fire Magician is on the field when Card of Sanctity activates, but not when it resolves, will the 400 damage still be delt?
Answer:
Since "Rapid-Fire Magician" is removed from the field before the effect of "Card of Sanctity" is resolved, the "Rapid-Fire Magician's" effect does not inflict damage.
It needs to be face-up on the field after the Normal Spell Card's effect is resolved, so it can inflict its damage. That does not happen here.
