Shrink Vs. Bottomless Trap Hole

This has been a popular question lately. We have received a ruling from Konami:

Question:

I Special Summon a "Cyber Dragon" and my opponent activates "Bottomless Trap Hole".

What happens if I chain "Shrink" and target my "Cyber Dragon"? Will it survive, or is it still destroyed anyways?



Answer:

The "Cyber Dragon" is not destroyed because its ATK is below 1500 when "Bottomless Trap Hole" resolves.

Would the same be true if Trap Hole was used? Or would the monster still die since Trap Hole targets it (unlike Bottomless Trap Hole).


Answer:

If you Summon a monster and your opponent activates "Trap Hole", reducing the Summoned monster's ATK below 1000 prevents it from being destroyed by "Trap Hole".

"Trap Hole's" effect will fail if the monster "Trap Hole" intends to destroy has its ATK dropped below 1000 before "Trap Hole" can resolve.
