I remember a LONG time ago it was ruled that if Spear Cretin was destroyed in battle it couldn't grab the same Spear Cretin via it's effect but it could grab a different Spear Cretin.
Is that still the ruling? I searched for it and could not find anything.

ANSWER:
Yes, that is still the correct ruling. You can Special Summon a "Spear Cretin", but not the same one that was just sent to the Graveyard.
