Spell Vanishing vs Dark World Empty
PostSubject: Spell Vanishing vs Dark World   Spell Vanishing vs Dark World EmptySat Jan 20, 2007 10:11 am

The reprinted version states this as its first sentence:

"Discard 2 cards from your hand." "then" it goes on to say about disrupting
the opponents spell and the copies, since it appears to be seperate from the
disruption, it makes one think that it might not be a cost....

Is it a cost? Or does it work with "Dark World" monsters?

Thank you in advance for the information, a friend of mine really wanted to
know.

ANSWER:

Discarding 2 cards from your hand is the activation cost of "Spell Vanishing". This is signified by the fact that "Discard 2 cards from your hand." is the first sentence of "Spell Vanishing"'s text.

As you are discarding for a cost, and not a card effect, "Spell Vanishing" does not trigger "Dark World" monsters' effects.
