Updated Rulings Empty
PostSubject: Updated Rulings   Updated Rulings EmptyMon Jun 02, 2008 8:30 am

Rulings Updated:
Arcana Force VII - The Chariot
- If The Chariot is destroyed by a monster with equal ATK, its heads effect wont activate.

Destiny Hero - Dasher
- "Destiny Hero - Dasher" cannot Tribute itself to activate its own effect.

Freed the Matchless General
- ""Freed the Matchless General's" second effect cannot be activated if you have no Level 4 or lower Warrior-Type monsters in your Deck.

Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV4
- If you don't have "Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV6" in your hand or Deck, you cannot send "Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV4" to the Graveyard to activate its effect.

Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV6
- If you don't have "Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV8" in your hand or Deck, you cannot send "Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV6" to the Graveyard to activate its effect.

Interplanetary Invader "A"
- "Interplanetary Invader 'A's" effect first activates at the end of the damage step when it is attacked, but it does not yet take control of the attacking monster. At the end of the Battle Phase its effect starts another Chain, this time taking control of every monster that attacked it during the Battle Phase.

Lucky Chance
- "Lucky Chance's" Trigger Effect is chained to the effect of the Effect Monster. You choose what you think the coin flip will be when you resolve "Lucky Chance's" effect.

- If you use the effect of "Second Coin Toss" to re-flip the coin, you do not reselect for "Lucky Chance".

Lumina, Lightsworn Summoner
- You cannot activate "Lumina, Lightsworn Summoner's" effect if you do not have any Level 4 or lower "Lightsworn" monsters in your Graveyard, even if you would discard one to activate the effect.

- If an effect is chained that removes "Lumina, Lightsworn Summoner" from the field, the targeted "Lightsworn" monster is still Special Summoned.

Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress
- If you activate "Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress'" effect and an effect is chained that shifts "Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress" into Defense Position or removes it from the field, its effect disappears.

Power Bond - Happy Days!!! The "Megamorph" ruling was finally fixed!!!! Yay!!!
- If you equip the monster Special Summoned by "Power Bond" with "Megamorph", the ATK gained from "Power Bond" disappears but the damage is still inflicted in the End Phase.

Prime Material Dragon - I 'think' I found the correct ruling.
- "Prime Material Dragon's" second effect can be activated when the effect of a Continuous Spell or Trap Card that destroys a monster(s) is activated, like "Blaze Accelerator" or "Skull Lair".

Reinforcement of the Army
- You cannot activate "Reinforcement of the Army" if you do not have any Level 4 or lower Warrior-Type monsters remaining in your Deck.

Spell Gear - I cannot find any differences in the previous LODT rulings and the current ones.

Thunder Dragon
- You cannot discard "Thunder Dragon" to activate its effect if you do not have any "Thunder Dragon" in your Deck.

Ultimate Offering - It appears that all of the non-cross-referenced rulings under here are 'new' as I don't have them in my archive.

Voltanis the Adjudicator
- "Voltanis the Adjudicator's" Special Summon effect starts a Chain. After "Voltanis the Adjudicator" is Special Summoned, its effect starts another new Chain if activated.

- If the negated effect was Chain Link 2 or higher, you can still activate "Voltanis the Adjudicator's" effect when the Chain resolves.

- "Voltanis the Adjudicator's" effect cannot be activated during the Damage Step.

- If you have 2 or more "Voltanis the Adjudicator" in your hand when your Counter Trap Card negates your opponent's effect, you can only activate the effect of 1 "Voltanis the Adjudicator", even if you negate multiple card effects.

- If you have "Voltanis the Adjunticator" and "Van'dalgyon the Dark Dragon Lord" in your hand and your Counter Trap Card negates your opponent's card effect, you can Special Summon only 1 of the 2 monsters. You cannot Special Summon both monsters.

- If you draw "Voltanis the Adjudicator" during the Chain your Counter Trap Card negates the effect of your opponent's card(s), you can activate its effect after the Chain resolves.

- If you activate "Magic Drain" and your opponent discards 1 Spell Card, you cannot activate "Voltanis the Adjudicator's" effect.

- "Voltanis the Adjudicator's" effect can be activated when you activate "Goblin Out of the Frying Pan" or "Malfunction" to negate your opponent's Spell or Trap Card.

- "Royal Oppression" can be used to negate "Voltanis the Adjudicator's" effect to Special Summon itself.

- If you activate "Magic Jammer," etc. and discard "Night Assailant" for its activation cost, the effects of "Night Assailant" and "Voltanis the Adjudicator" will start a new Chain after the Chain that included your "Magic Jammer" resolves. "Night Assailant's" effect will be Chain Link 1 and "Voltanis the Adjudicator's" will be Chain Link 2.

Rulings Added:
Armed Ninja - The 'not destroyed' should simply read 'destroyed'. It appears there is a typo on this ruling.
- This card can destroy a Spell Card on either side of the field. So if your opponent has no Spell Cards and no Set Spell or Trap Cards, you must destroy a card on your side of the field. If it is face-down Spell Card you must reveal it to your opponent, and it is not destroyed.

Aurkus, Lightsworn Druid
- "Lightsworn" monsters face-up on the field, in the Graveyard, or Removed Zone cannot be targeted by effects.

- "Aurkus, Lightsworn Druid" cannot negate effects; it only prevents "Lightsworn" monsters from being selected as the targets of effects.Once a target has been selected, the effect of "Aurkus, Lightsworn Druid" is irrelevant.

- If your opponent activates "Ring of Destruction" targeting a "Lightsworn" monster you control and you chain "Glorious Illusion" to Special Summon "Aurkus, Lightsworn Druid" from your Graveyard, your "Lightsworn" monster is still destroyed.

- If you Special Summon a "Lightsworn" monster with "Glorious Illusion", and afterwards you Summon "Aurkus, Lightsworn Druid", if your opponent later destroys "Glorious Illusion" your "Lightsworn" monster is also destroyed because "Glorious Illusion" is NOT selecting your "Lightsworn" monster as a target.

- While you have "Aurkus, Lightsworn Druid" on the field you cannot equip your "Lightsworn" monsters with Equip Cards, but if you already have a "Lightsworn" monster equipped with an Equip Card when you Summon "Aurkus, Lightsworn Druid", the Equip Card is not destroyed or negated, because "Aurkus, Lightsworn Druid" only prevents "Lightsworn" monsters from being selected as a target.

- "Aurkus, Lightsworn Druid" will NOT stop "Torrential Tribute", "Mirror Force", "Lightning Vortex", "Fissure", "Smashing Ground", or "Hammer Shot", because these effects do not target.

Blast Juggler - It appears there's another typo here. "Blast Sphere" is probably supposed to be "Blast Juggler".
- "Blast Juggler" targets 2 face-up monsters with 1000 or less ATK.

- "Blast Juggler's" effect cannot be activated if there is only 1 face-up monster (excluding "Blast Sphere") with 1000 or less ATK.

By Order of the Emperor
- The effect of "By Order of the Emperor" is chained to the effect of the Normal Summoned Effect Monster.

- The effect of "By Order of the Emperor" can be chained to negated "King Tiger Wanghu's" effect.

- If you have 2 face-up copies of "By Order of the Emperor", you can only chain the effect of 1 of them, not both.

Catapult Turtle
- The inflicted damage is equal to half the total ATK of the monster at the time it was Tributed.

- When you Tribute a face-down monster, the damage is equal to half the monster's original ATK while it is in the Graveyard.

Ceasefire
- Monster Tokens and monsters being treated as Equip Cards are not counted as Effect Monsters.

Darkness Approaches
- If you select an Attack Position monster, it is flipped into face-down Attack Position.

- You can Flip Summon the face-down Attack Position monster into face-up Attack Position.

- When a face-down Attack Position monster is attacked, it is flipped into face-up Attack Position.

Dimensional Alchemist
- The top card of your Deck is removed from play when "Dimensional Alchemist's" effect resolves.

Ehren, Lightsworn Monk
- The Defense Position monster attacked by "Ehren, Lightsworn Monk" is shuffled into its owner's Deck.

- "Ehren, Lightsworn Monk" can use its effect to return face-up and face-down Defense Position monsters to the owner's Deck.

- When "Ehren, Lightsworn Monk's" effect is applied, Damage Calculation does not occur. Neither player receives Battle Damage to their Life Points.

- Note that "Ehren, Lightsworn Monk" does not say "without flipping the monster face-up". The effect of "Ehren, Lightsworn Monk" is applied after the monster is flipped face-up, but before damage calculation. If the Defense Position monster was face-down and has a Flip Effect, the Flip Effect will activate and resolve normally after it is returned to its owner's Deck.

- The first effect of "Ehren, Lightsworn Monk" is a Trigger Effect that can be chained to.

- If "Ehren, Lightsworn Monk" attacks a face-up "Sasuke Samurai #4", do the coin toss for "Sasuke Samurai #4" first, at the beginning of the Damage Step. If "Sasuke Samurai #4" destroys "Ehren, Lightsworn Monk" with its effect, the effect of "Ehren, Lightsworn Monk" is not applied. (If "Sasuke Samurai #4" was face-down, then you miss the chance to use its effect.)

- If "Ehren, Lightsworn Monk" attacks "Dreamsprite", both are mandatory Trigger Effects with the same timing, so they form a chain with "Dreamsprite" as Chain Link 2. "Dreamsprite" resolves first and, according to its effect, causes damage calculation to happen immediately. Since the effect of "Ehren, Lightsworn Monk" only happens without damage calculation, the effect of "Ehren, Lightsworn Monk" disappears.

- If "Ehren, Lightsworn Monk" attacks a Defense Position "D.D. Warrior Lady", the effect of "D.D. Warrior Lady" does not activate, because it has been returned to its owner's Deck by the effect of "Ehren, Lightsworn Monk" before the time its effect would normally activate.

- If "Ehren, Lightsworn Monk" attacks a face-down Defense Position monster while "Final Attack Orders" is active, the monster is not returned to its owner's Deck because it flips face-up and immediately shifts to Attack Position.

- "Nightmare Penguin" will activate its effect if attacked by "Ehren, Lightsworn Monk" while face-down. (Just like a Flip Effect.)

Electric Lizard
- If the non-Zombie-Type monster is removed from the field or flipped face-down, it can attack in the following turn.

Fake Trap
- "The face-down Trap Cards protected by ""Fake Trap"" must be revealed when resolving the effect that would destroy them, to confirm that they are Trap Cards.

- If your opponent activates ""Heavy Storm"" and your chain ""Fake Trap"", your Trap Cards are protected but your Spell Cards are still destroyed."

Fusion Sage
- You cannot activate "Fusion Sage" if you do not have any copies of "Polymerization" in your Deck.

Horn of Heaven
- "Horn of Heaven" cannot be used to negate a Special Summon that results from a Spell, Trap, or effect of an Effect Monster Card. You cannot use "Horn of Heaven" to negate a Special Summon from "Monster Reborn", "Polymerization", "Premature Burial", "Call of the Haunted", "Elegant Egotist", "Fusion Gate", a Ritual Spell Card, "Giant Rat", "Mystic Tomato", "Marauding Captain", "Spear Cretin", "Cyber Jar", "Van'Dalgyon the Dark Dragon Lord", "Tualatin", etc.

- "Horn of Heaven" can be used to negate the Special Summon of a monster with an inherent Special Summon effect that does not start a Chain, like "Dark Armed Dragon", "Dark Necrofear", "Cyber Dragon", "Gladiator Beast Heraklinos", "Elemental Hero Magma Neos", etc.

Jirai Gumo
- If a replay occurs when "Jirai Gumo" attacks and you decide to continue attacking with "Jirai Gumo", you do not flip the coin again.

- If your opponent has "Toll", you must pay the cost for "Toll" before flipping the coin for "Jirai Gumo"

Share the Pain
- Tributing 1 monster is a cost.

- Your opponent selects the monster they Tribute.

- No monsters are Summoned by this Tribute.

Snatch Steal
- You cannot select your opponent's face-down monster.

- If you equip your opponent's monster with "Snatch Steal", and later your opponent equips the same monster with "Snatch Steal", your opponent gains control of the monster.

- If you control your opponent's monster with "Snatch Steal" and your opponent takes control of it with "Brain Control", the monster is returned to you during the End Phase.

- If you control your opponent's monster with "Snatch Steal" and your opponent takes control of it with "Brain Control", if "Snatch Steal" is removed from the field your opponent keeps the monster. It does not return to you during the End Phase.

- If you control your opponent's monster with "Snatch Steal" and "Giant Trunade" returns "Snatch Steal" to its owner's hand, the equipped monster is returned to its owner.

- If you control your opponent's monster with "Snatch Steal" and it is flipped face-down while you control it, the monster remains under your control and does not return to your opponent, even if it is flipped face-up.

Solemn Judgment
- "Solemn Judgment" cannot negate a Special Summon if it results from the activated effect of a monster card, like "Mystic Tomato", "Light and Darkness Dragon", "Van'Dalgyon the Dark Dragon Lord", "Marauding Captain", "Lonefire Blossom", etc.

- "Solemn Judgment" can negate the Special Summon of a monster that is Special Summoned through its own inherent Special Summon effect that does not start a Chain, like "Cyber Dragon", "The Fiend Megacyber", "Dark Necrofear", "Dark Armed Dragon", "Judgment Dragon", "Gladiator Beast Gyzarus", "Elemental Hero Storm Neos", etc.

- You cannot negate the Special Summon of a monster after it is Special Summoned with a Spell or Trap Card, but you can use "Solemn Judgment" to negate the activation of the Spell or Trap Card.

- If halving your Life Points results in a fraction, your Life Points are rounded up.

Soul Release
- You can select cards from you and your opponent's Graveyard simultaneously. For example, you can select 2 cards from your Graveyard and 3 from your opponent's Graveyard.

Steel Scorpion
- If the affected monster is removed from the field or flipped face-down, it is not destroyed during the End Phase.

Sword of Deep-Seated
- "Sword of Deep-Seated's" second effect is a Trigger Effect.

- If your "Sangan" equipped with your "Sword of Deep-Seated" is sent to the Graveyard, the effect of "Sangan" and "Sword of Deep-Seated" form a Chain. You decide their order on the Chain.

- If "Sword of Deep-Seated" is sent to the Graveyard while resolving "Reasoning", its effect starts a new Chain after you finish resolving "Reasoning".

The Immortal of Thunder
- The owner of "The Immortal of Thunder" loses 5000 Life Points.

- If "The Immortal of Thunder" is destroyed while face-down, its owner does not lose 5000 Life Points.

- If your opponent takes control of your face-down "The Immortal of Thunder" and Flip Summons it, they gain 3000 Life Points. When it is sent to the Graveyard, you lose 5000 Life Points.

The Wicked Worm Beast
- If you have 7 or more cards in your hand after returning "The Wicked Worm Beast" to your hand, you must discard cards until you have 6 cards.

Toon Table of Contents
- You cannot activate "Toon Table of Contents" if you do not have any "Toon" Cards, or "Manga Ryu-Ran", in your Deck.

Two-Pronged Attack
- "Two-Pronged Attack" targets 2 monsters you control and 1 monster your opponent controls. Destroying 2 of your monsters is not a cost.
