"Chain Energy" – Continuous Spell Card

Effect Text: Each player must pay 500 Life Points per card to Normal Summon, Special Summon, Set or activate cards from his/her respective hand.

--------------

(For all scenarios, Player A will have an active "Chain Energy" Spell Card on the field and it will be Player B's turn, unless otherwise stated. My actual question can be found at the end of this post.)

Scenario 1: "Ancient Rules" - Summoning by the Effect of Another Card

Player B activates "Ancient Rules" by paying 500 Life Points for "Chain Energy." He/She Special Summons "Dark Magician" by the effect of "Ancient Rules."

Scenario 2: Ritual Summoning – Would Sent Monsters Count as Activating from the Hand?

Player B activates "End of the World" by paying 500 Life Points for "Chain Energy." He/She sends a "Blade Knight" and a "Vorse Raider" in his/her hand to the Graveyard and Special Summons "Demise, King of Armageddon."

Scenario 3: "Triggered Summon" - Any Differences in Regards to Who Pays?

Player B pays 500 Life Points to Special Summon "Cyber Dragon."

Player A responds by activating the Trap Card, "Trigger Summon."

Resolving it, Player B Special Summons "Cyber Phoenix" from his/her hand while Player A Special Summons "Nimble Momonga."

Scenario 4: The Cost of Crystals - Does Crystallization Count

Player B pays 500 Life Points to Normal Summon "Crystal Beast Sapphire Pegasus." Using its effect as a priority, he/she selects 1 Crystal Beast from his/her hand and places it in his/her Spell & Trap Card Zone as a Continuous Spell Card.

--------

My question is: in addition to the initial payment that Player B makes for Chain Energy, how are additional payments handled in the above scenarios? Are there any additional payments, according to private rulings?

Simply, I’m curious to know (and confirm) all possible scenarios in which additional payments for Chain Energy would or would not apply, seeing as there is no generic listing of payment applications on the official Yu-Gi-Oh! Individual Rulings FAQ site (aside from Deck-to-Field scenarios [Cyber Jar]).

Answer:

1) Assuming "Ancient Rules" was activated from their hand, they pay 500 Life Points to activate "Ancient Rules" and 500 Life Points to Special Summon the monster from their hand.

2) They pay 500 Life Points to activate "End of the World" from their hand and 500 Life Points to Ritual Summon "Demise, King of Armageddon" from their hand.

3) Player B pays 500 Life Points to Special Summon "Cyber Phoenix" and Player A pays 500 Life Points to Special Summon "Nimble Momonga" from their hand.

4) This effect does not interact with "Chain Energy". No cost is paid in this case.
