Venom Swamp (field spell)
Monsters lose 500 ATK for each Venom Counter on them. Destroy a monster if its ATK becomes 0 by this effect. During each player’s End Phase, place 1 Venom Counter on each face up monster, except “Venom” monsters.
Question:
If Venom swamp is destroyed or removed from the field, what happens to the venom counters? Since other cards are also capable of putting Venom counters on an opponent’s monsters (Venom Serpent, Venom Boa, etc.), do we need to keep track of which counters came from where? If the counters are not destroyed, do they still count if a Venom Swamp were returned to the field?
Answer:
The Venom Counters don't just get removed because "Venom Swamp" is gone. "Venom Swamp" doesn't say to do anything with the Venom Counters when it leaves the field, so there is no reason to think that anything should happen to them.
When a "Venom Swamp" is activated and applies its effects, it will reduce a monster's ATK accordingly.
