Warrior of Atlantis Empty
PostSubject: Warrior of Atlantis   Warrior of Atlantis EmptyWed May 16, 2007 4:07 pm

"Warrior of Atlantis" says that you can discard it to add 1 "A Legendary Ocean" to your hand from the deck. However, the only card named "A Legendary Ocean" has the effect "This card's name is treated as 'Umi'." As a result, there is no legal card for "Warrior of Atlantis" to search for. Can "Warrior of Atlantis" search for "A Legendary Ocean?"

Warrior of Atlantis (FOTB-EN016)
You can discard this card to the Graveyard to add 1 "A Legendary Ocean" from your Deck to your hand.

A Legendary Ocean (SD4-EN020)
This card's name is treated as "Umi". Downgrade all WATER monsters in both players' hands and on the field by 1 Level. Increase the ATK and DEF of all WATER monsters by 200 points.

"A Legendary Ocean"'s text only tells you that its name is treated as "Umi". It doesn't say that its name is treated as "Umi" instead of "A Legendary Ocean".

As such, "A Legendary Ocean"'s name is effectively both "Umi" and "A Legendary Ocean" simultaneously. So, "Warrior of Atlantis" can add 1 "A Legendary Ocean" from your Deck to your hand legally.
