January 21, 2009 - Chance for Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Duelists to Experience Sneak Peeks at Their Favorite Hobby Stores

Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (KDE) is putting the final touches on the company’s plans to launch nationally its Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) sneak peek events beginning with the soon-to-be released Crimson Crisis booster set. Crimson Crisis (MSRP $3.99 per nine-card pack) will be released at local hobby stores participating in KDE’s sneak peek extravaganza on February 28 and March 1, depending on the stores’ preference. The Crimson Crisis booster set will be available nationwide at those hobby stores not participating in the sneak peek event and retailers on March 3.

Duelists won’t have to look around to find the best deal in town; they just need to head to their favorite hobby gaming store for Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG sneak peek events. We are offering kits featuring Crimson Crisis to all hobby store owners who would like to host a sneak peek. Crimson Crisis will introduce new cards used by Yusei, Jack and Aki from the hit TV show, “Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s,” in addition to the introduction of the mega powerful Assault Mode monsters.

Every participant will receive five packs from the Crimson Crisis expansion set, plus an additional pack for playing and the Colossal Fighter/Assault Mode promotional card, while supplies last. Crimson Crisis establishes the all-new Assault Mode monsters and Synchro Monsters which can be transformed to Assault Mode, making them incredible fighting forces with massive attack points and potent effects. This all-new 100-card booster set will improve any Duelist's collection with the new Synchro Monsters, Tuners, and new themes like the Dark "Blackwing" monsters. Duelists everywhere beware because the onslaught of Crimson Crisis is drawing near! Each box contains 24 packs.

How will this work in comparison to a normal sneak preview since it's completely independent of UDE...? (Casual play only?? ...since there aren't any judges...)

Following the successful outcome of the injunction against Konami, in which the Dutch court decided in favor of Upper Deck Panoceanic CV and Upper Deck International BV, we are pleased to announce that UDI launches expansions and events as planned. This means that the following expansions will be released:

Duelist Pack – Yusei (DP8): February 24th, 2009
Crimson Crisis Booster: March 3rd, 2009

As with all new booster releases we scheduled a sneak preview for Crimson Crisis. This event will be held on February 28th and March 1st.

...Just copied this from the Upper Deck International website... Seems like they say that they're doing the sneak preview... So who's actually doing it and how does this affect anything (if at all)??
