If chris activates poison of the old man to gain 1200 life points and richard has 9000 while chris has 2000, richard has no reponse, and chris chains self destuct button, does chris win because after the entire chain resolves richard is at zero but chris will gain 1200?

From the Advanced FAQ:
"You can win a Duel between steps of a chain, ending the Duel and preventing the complete chain from resolving."
In this case, we are losing the Duel inbetween steps of a chain.
"Poison of the Old Man" --> "Self-Destruct Button"
"Self-Destruct Button" resolves first, and Chris and Richard's Life Points are simultaneously changed to 0. At this time the Duel ends in a draw.
